Hi there, Jane!

I, too, was diagnosed with RRMS twenty years ago. I, too, have begun to experience the transition to SPMS.

Your words, which I stumbled on during MS rabbit hole research this morning, have left me feeling a sense of belonging I wasn’t even aware I wanted, never mind needed. I hope you write and record more episodes; I have listened to all that is available.

I will be taking advantage of the Mind Body Solutions videos! I’ve been looking for a program exactly like this. As it becomes more difficult to move, it becomes less likely. Excellent opportunity. So thanks for an uncountable number of gifts.

As a recent California to Wisconsin transplant, I feel a sort of kinship with the storyteller. Makes my personal struggle seem that much more reasonable and (some form of) success that much more possible. I wish you continued strength and copious joy. ✌️

Hi Stacey,

Thank you so much for your lovely comments. I've had a rough few days, so your timing was better than you can imagine. I'm so glad your journey through the looking glass led you here, and you found it helpful. How interesting that we're on similar paths, even down to moving from CA to the midwest!! I've got a thousand questions for you!

I'm not sure if you're busy in the mornings, but the Mind Body Solutions classes are M 10-11am, Th 11am-12pm, & W 10-11am (in order of my preference:). If you go on the website, you can sign up once and they'll send you a zoom code. We can 'go together' if you like. :) I'd love to connect with you, please be in touch, Jane 🌸

Thank you for making others so much more aware of what things are like for you. Your perspective and experiences now are super important for people to understand. The Ukrainian stories are heart wrenching. Thank you for sharing them to make others aware.

Not being able to act on the fight-or-flight response is frightening! I think you are right to frame it as a rare life-threatening situation, but you’ve already experienced it with the fires. We have hurricanes, tornadoes, and high crime here, so it’s a concern people share. How to get away, when to leave, what to do if…I know it’s different, but we can take some similar protective measures, especially if there’s some warning. I’m worried about wheelchair users when the electricity is out and elevators don’t work, and how crappy the sidewalks are, making assisting someone difficult. It’s true you gotta trust people, and I think you have a good QB right there with you. Sending lots of love your way!

It really is, it's a suffocating feeling. It's also strange adjusting to not driving, needing help, and not being able to do things like hop on a plane and go home...So much to think about that is normal perhaps as people age, but has come so much more quickly than I was expecting. Thank you for reading, thinking and commenting. Sending so much love too you xo

Thanks for writing this... it’s so sad to hear about Ira and Jimmy and Barbara. Their stories are an angle of war and disaster we don’t often think about, and while so tragic, it’s good that you brought them to our attention. I can understand why this would be something you would think about too. It’s only natural. ❤️

Thank you - I suppose there's only enough space in the news for the stuff that touches the most people, so the small things aren't focused on.

A friend of mine whose mum passed from Alzheimer's noticed a story out of Ukraine about a dad who was away from his wife caring for his mum. Sadly, when his wife and two children fled their home, they were killed. He saw their bodies on the news and recognized them by their luggage and coats :( It's like we've got a radar that glues onto the things in life that are meaningful in some way to us.
